About Thompson Transfer
Meet Owner Operator, Joe Thompson
As a six-generation native resident of Michigan, Joe's never happier than when he's on the road.
Somewhat of a legend in the industry, few drivers can say what he can. During his 30-year-long career, he's run everything from priceless works of art for an embassy in Washington D.C. to a perfect replica of the NASA Mars Space Rover, all the way down to toilet paper, cardboard, and bottled water.
Joe's proficient in highway, country, and city driving and he's put over 2 million miles under his belt without a single cargo claim filed against him during his long career.

Joe was trained in moving high-value electronics when he was an Owner Operator with United Van Lines' Special Commodities division in the early 1990s. He incorporated in 1997 and obtained his authority in 2007.

Today, his bread and butter consists of running time-sensitive, high-end electronics and general freight, staying within the lower and upper peninsulas of the state he loves.
